27/3/07 L,POOL HALF MARATHON

Will Weir, who was running the half marathon on behalf of my grandson Noah & Muscular Dystrophy, completed the race in 1hr 59 mins, which is an average of just over 9 mins per mile. Thank you to all the members who sponsored Will, my form took in £335, but overall Will collected over £1000, Will was joined by his brother & sister , who flew over from Belfast to take part in the race, thanks to all three of you & well done, Some members have already paid me their sponsorship money but there are a few outstanding, if those members can pay ASAP i'll get the money off to Muscular Dystrophy ASAP.
THANK YOU EVERYONE

17/7/07 VOTE ON GROUND MOVE

I'm sure you all know by now about the decision of the club to have ballot papers out in early August, on the thorny issue of the ground move. Just how the ballot question will be worded I dont know, but Keith Wyness has already stated today "there is no plan B",
I am not about to tell you which way to vote & why you should vote this way or that. you will have already made your mind up or will do shortly.
Evertonians eligable to vote will be shareholders, season ticket holders & those who have held a season ticket in the last 3 years & also Evertonia adult card holders for year 2006/07.
I do not agree with Evertonia card holders getting a vote simply because most of them go to 2 or 3 games a year & also I know of reds***e supporters who have a card just to get a ticket for the derby game & Everton know this full well.Surely fans who buy tickets for every home game, but cant afford the outlay all at once for a season ticket, deserve a vote above these people. With the technology used today when buying a ticket it wouldn't be rocket science to give these Evertonians the chance to have a say in the future of the club, yet it would appear a red who has a Evertonia card can decide where we will be playing our football in the future. I know there are not many of the 33,000 eligable to vote who are Evertonia members but surely it is the principal of the thing, every Evertonian who attends the games regular will want to have a vote, I cant see this happening again in my lifetime, after 56 years watching the blues, it's got to be done right.

18/7/08 SPONSOR

Those members who are regulars on match days will know we do not have a club sponsor now.
Martin Brown and his company EOS ceased to sponsor the club last September. Although I thought it would hit us quite hard I am pleased to say we are doing ok financially.
Martin sponsored us for a number of years paying £50 a month for the phone & computer& also sponsored the Player of the Year night, on behalf of all the members I would like to thank him for all his support he has given us over the last few years.
Needless to say I have been on the lookout for another sponsor, but as Martin was also a member, it has proven more difficult than I thought, but the club will continue & will prosper I am sure.

19/7/07 CLUB MEMBERSHIP

The Affiliation papers required by the foofball club have now been sent back to Goodison.Any member who hasn't sent back the membership form for this season with the next week, may be exempt from the benefits we get from Everton, it is in your interests to get the form back to me ASAP as I will be sending the up to date members register to the club at the end of this week. If members know of a member who doesn't have a computer please let them know.I realise some members may be on holiday but you have had the forms for some weeks now.

20/7/07 PROPOSED NEW STADIUM

The images of the proposed stadium in Kirkby have been released this morning. My first reaction is it looks very good, if it was in the city I would be delighted.
I dont like the wasted space in the corners , no seats!, other clubs, like Rangers, have discovered that & are now putting seats in these areas. Is it part of the master plan to put them in later, when it will be twice as costly at least.
The front image of the stadium looks just like a petrol station at night, but overall it looks quite good, pity about it being in Kirkby although I must admit I think somebody at Everton has got their sums wrong, I just dont think a stadium of that calibre could be built for the money quoted.FOR NOT HELPING US AS MUCH AS YOU HELP THE RED SHITE SHAME ON YOU L,POOL CITY COUNCIL, HOPE YOU ALL LOSE YOUR DEPOSITS AT THE NEXT ELECTION.

1/10/07 MIDDLESBROUGH 30/9/07

The club subsidised the coach for this game by 40%, we are able to do this because of the high numbers who have travelled to home games this season & also through the sale of the spot the balls on the coaches,we are also able to sub the coach going to Derby County by 30%, this works out at the same amount of money on each trip & hopefully this will not be the only time we will do it this season.

1/10/07 METALIST KHARKIV 4/10/07

Any member who would like a programme from Kharkiv let me know & I will try & get some.

6/10/07 METALIST KHARKIV U.E.F.A. CUP

Well a great result after a very poor first half display, I must admit even when we were 2-1 down I thought we could still go through, as any draw would have done us, but for Victor to get the winner was no more than the lad deserved, he gave us a lot more bite up front when he came on to lead what up till then was a bit powder puff to be honest, but it all came out ok in the end. As you know our Ian & myself travelled on the executive trip with Everton travel & it was a good trip well organised, now that's a novelty isn't it, anyway the meal & drinks before the game were superb. The only downside to the trip was the match tickets for the game apparrently were not the tickets we should have got, we were in row 28 of 30 when fans who paid £160 less than us were in front by some 5 rows, so I reckon we paid £160 to have a meal & drinks before the game, well the food was good, but not £160 good.
Unfortunately coming home on the flight I suffered a blood clot in my leg, which was very painfull but I'm now being treated for it & hopefully I can get it cleared up in time for our next trip.
Otherwise the trip was great & even after the mix up with the tickets I will travel with Everton Travel again, well done both on & off the pitch.

7/10/07 U.E.F.A. CUP GROUP STAGES DRAW

The draw for the group stage of the UEFA cup will be on Tuesday, look out for a favourable away draw for the Blues, I think we are due a good draw to a near European neighbour.

9/10/07 U.E.F.A CUP GROUP STAGE DRAW

The draw hasn't been too bad to us for a change, we have home games with Larissa on October 25th & Zenit St Petersburg onDecember 5th with away games on November 8th at Nuremberg & AZ Alkmaar on December 20th. I will go with Everton travel to Nuremberg & hope to take the club coach to Alkmaar in Holland if we get enough to go. any member who would like to do this trip to Alkmaar let me know ASAP so I can sort a price out.

21/10/07

Is it really worth turning up for dreby games when you know the RS will get all the dubiuos, & the downright outrageous, decisions going their way,2 pen claims 1 dubious pen against us & Gerrard reffing the game + a sending off offence for a 2 footed tackle thatthe ref refused to give, but then haven't the RS allways done that.If Evertonians in their 1000's emailed the FA about the ref's display surely they would have to do something about him, but hang on it's the FA & Barwick that well known Kopite so maybe not.

22/10/07 CLATTENBURG

Clattenburg has been dropped from the premier league list for next weekends matches, lets hope they make it for ever, sign the petition on the echo website.

CHELSEA V EVERTON SUNDAY 11th NOVEMBER 2-00PM KICK-OFF

The game will be on live at the Mount on Sunday, all members get down there.

NUREMBERG

Quite a few of our members made the trip over to Nuremberg for the UEFA cup game, police estimated 10,000 Everton fans made the trip, with no trouble before ,during or after the game, looking around the stadium I would think the vast majority of the 10,000 got in & how we were rewarded, Victor, once again, got off the bench to win the game for the blues, although it has to be said it was a great team performance, with just a few sticky moments, but overall well worth the 2-0 scoreline. The city was awash with Evertonians before the game & once again it was a carnival atmosphere, just proving once again we are the best in the world. Our group had a great time after arriving at midday with Everton Travel, who once again did a superb job, we sampled various bars & tried our best to empty the various Malt Whisky bottles, with some degree of success I might add.One of our group, mentioning no names C.L.tried his best to get us into some gay bars, again with some degree of success, & then put the blame on everyone else, never seen so many dodgy wigs in all my life, some I thought must have been real hair cos you wouldn't buy one that bad, Colin behave yourself, oh sorry the name slipped out, but dont worry no one will read it anyway. All in all a great day & a fabulous result for the blues, see you at Alkmaar
